Club Championship

The first round produced some surprises as Larry Duggins eliminated #2 seed Jake North, and Tim Hyatt turned back an even par round by Nic Ahlers to move into the semi-finals. The other top seeds held serve as Mike Spirito took out Bob Fuller, and Jordan Higgins moved to the semi-finals with a victory over Zack Joyce.

Semi-finals: Mike Spirito exercised patience in outlasting Larry Duggins, and the Higgins/Hyatt match was a close one, with Jordan hitting just enough good shots for a win over Tim.

Finals: The match was back and forth with both players assuming slim leads. Jordan took control with birdie at #12 to go three up, but Mike’s par-birdie at thirteen and fourteen cut the deficit to one. Mike’s tee shot at #15 found the woods (leading to a bogey), and his tee shot at #16 left him with a nasty downhill sidewinder and Jordan made two commercial pars to seal the win, 3 & 2.

A Flight: Nathan Hannahan got to 5 up lead at the turn then withstood a furious comeback effort from Wyatt Wilson to win the match 2 up.

Women’s Championship: Beth Nealeigh avenged her stroke play loss to Cindy Thompson and registered a 2 up decision in the Women’s finale.

A Flight: Cindy Wood also evened the score for her 2014 finals loss to Debbie Marchi and went on to claim the title in the A flight.
