Win a TaylorMade R11 or Ping K15 Driver!

This is it! Our Annual Spring Sale and this year we have a ton of quality used clubs, a number of accessory items, and several sets of Junior clubs.  If you or someone you know is looking to buy a good set of pre-owned irons, this is the sale. We are liquidating a collection of high end used clubs that were once used by a prominent amateur player from the area.  This lot includes:

  • Ping Eye 2 Irons (3 different sets, 1 set has G Loomis Graphite shafts and has all the irons from 2-SW,!!),
  • 2 sets of Hogan Apex forged irons (a wonderful set of forged blades that would play well as is, or be really sweet with a shaft update),
  • Titleist Tour Forged Blades (a classic look  and they feel like butter)
  • Cobra Greg Norman Forged Blades (a real players iron, short compact blade)
  • Lots of wedges (over 50),
  • Some pretty dang good putters (including several Odyssey and SeeMore models).
  • Golf Art – need some pictures for your den? Low prices for nice, framed pictures

Also a friend in Florida closed his custom shop and went to work for the PGA, he has sent up:

  • Many component wedges and putters (Snake Eyes, SMT and Tom Wishon Golf) and putters for $10-$15
  • Sunglasses for $9.50 (including a case),
  • Animal head covers for $8.00,
  • Accu Length Junior Sets, the set that grow with your child, only $99.00, more than 40% off!!
  • SpiderMan Kids Sets $30.00, these are real clubs for kids 3-6 years, includes a Wood, Iron and Putter with a Spiderman Bag
  • Lots of accessory items

Also included in this sale is the normal closeout of my 2010 merchandise at some seriously low and silly prices (including 2010 Pro V1’s for $34.00 a dozen) and Frank Rust will add some really nice items as well.  Oh, and one last thing, for every $10 you spend, a ticket will be entered in your name in a raffle for a chance to win your choice: A NEW R11 or K15 Driver!!

Rants and Raves

Last year you may remember a Marchi rant in regards to the numerous rules violations being committed by those who really ought to know better.  Now it seems we have a major controversy regarding those fans who are viewing the event via television, they detect an infraction, and call in to report the infraction.  I think this is GREAT!  I have no problem with this. This is an example of why golf is the greatest of games, a sport where the rules matter! As long as the competition is open, the penalty will be applied. Can you imagine anyone calling in a travelling violation or a pass interference call, or ARod telling an umpire he was out on a close play at the plate?  Of course not, every other sport encourages gamesmanship, a little cheating.  Get away with what you can as long as the officials don’t notice. Not golf, a gentlemen’s game. Two more thoughts; 1) The player should not be disqualified from the competition, just apply the appropriate penalty, and allow them to remain in the event; 2) Where do these people find the phone number to report these infractions? Can you just Google the phone number?

Year of the Driver

2011 looks like the year to spring for a new driver.  TaylorMade, Ping, Nike, Titleist, Callaway and Adams have had their engineers working overtime and placed legitimate entries in the annual driver sweepstakes.  All these companies should rack up great sales, but the golf consumer will win as well! These drivers are a virtual lock to help you gain distance and hit more fairways.  TaylorMade has taken the early lead with the sexy new R11, a white driver with a black face and an owner’s manual to explain the adjustments.  But don’t count out the other entrants, all will perform admirably when fit properly and/or adjusted correctly.  Talk to us, we would like to steer you in the right direction.
