Patriot Golf Weekend
This nation program has selected the dates of September 3-4-5 for Patriot Golf Weekend. All monies collected for this effort will go to the Folds of Honor Foundation. This Foundation aids the families of those military heroes that are killed or injured in the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. If you have a few dollars to spare, it will be put to good use!
Men’s Senior Match Play Championship
Championship Flight: Tim Hyatt completed his double (adding a Men’s Senior title to his 09 Men’s Championship title) by winning the Senior Match Play title over Curt Lawson.
A Flight: Keith Furlong has made a complete comeback from his “hiatus” by taking out the always tough Ed Chamberlin to win the Senior A Flight.
Chili Scramble – October 8, 2011
The season’s most popular event is right around the corner. Make plans to play in the Chili Scramble on Saturday October 8, 8:15 Shotgun Start. Entry fee is $13.00, includes all the Chili you can eat!!
High School Golf
Check the board for golf course availability. We have 6 high school teams (Boys Varsity, Girls Varsity, Boys JV for both Vandalia-Butler and Tipp City) playing and the schedule can get tight.
Battle of the Sexes
We are still looking for feedback for this event. We would like to establish this event on an annual basis and we would like to know your thoughts, and more important will you support an event of this nature!
Kids Drivers (aged 12 and under)
A good friend from the Canton area has designed a new driver, just for kids. The shaft is graphite, in a kids flex, oversize club head with 13 degrees loft. But the real kicker is the grip, it is kid sized, but molded to insure they learn the proper way to hold the club. As a long time instructor the major problem when with working with kids is the problem with “unlearning” the poor grip they used when younger. When left to their own devices most kids develop a grip with a strong right hand that leads to big trouble when they get older. The cost is $49.95 (includes a nice head cover). This driver would make a great Christmas present.
WHIO Talk Radio and Larry Hansgen Appearance
Larry was blown away by the generosity and friendliness of the players at Cassel Hills. In just over 2 hours Larry generated $800 for MS!
Laser Link Yardage Program
You may have noticed the black tips (with a crystal inside) on top of the flagsticks. These are receivers for the Laser Link yardage measuring system. We have a demo gun available (plus a few for sale) for you to try.
